Good MORNING Farm Friends! A couple of exciting things to look forward to this week for farm stand:
Our Web Store is open for orders until Wednesday at NOON! We will be at 1505 College Way Thursday the 18th from 4-6PM!
There will be a Saturday for Walk-up, on farm, plant sales at the end of April – stay tuned for those details!
The time has come, our tomato plants are ready for farm stand!!! It is still early to put them in the ground, but you can keep them outside to get some sun and pull them inside at night if the temps drop. Typically last frost date is marked in the first week of May and warm weather crops can go in after that date. This year the almanac is reporting April 20th for Lexington to be the last frost!
We have strawberries in our high tunnels this year which means we already have plenty of strawberries for farm stand – we won’t do pre-orders for those- but they will be available for walk-up purchases.
To go with your strawberries, we should begin harvesting rhubarb this week! I made a delicious strawberry and rhubarb jam last spring and I am so looking forward to these spring flavors again.
Reminders: Claim CSA vouchers before April 26th and sign up for the CSA! Still a few spots left for the 2024 season!
