About Us

Welcome!

This blog is a source of UK-CSA member resources and production resources.

Member resources include weekly CSA newsletters, event announcements, vegetable profiles as a way to “get to know” your share contents, recipes and preservation tips by crop.

CSA production resources include links to our CSA Production Manual (HO-127), YouTube videos, Flickr photo galleries, workbooks, and more.

The UK-CSA project is an integral part of the Sustainable Agriculture Undergraduate Curriculum at the University of Kentucky College of Agriculture and links local community members (shareholders) with the Organic Farming Unit located at the UK Horticulture Research Farm.

The CSA project is not a commercial farm and is not managed for profit.  The CSA operates as a working classroom where UK students and interested community members come together to learn the fundamentals of sustainable agricultural production and marketing.  The CSA also serves as a demonstration project for Kentucky farmers looking to establish similar operations across the state.

Please visit the UK-CSA website to learn more.

All financial proceeds from the sale of CSA shares support the production of food during the growing season and student educational activities at the Horticulture Research Farm.
