Preview CSA Week 18

We have 5 remaining weeks in the main season CSA! After which, we launch a smaller Fall CSA program.

Sign ups for the Fall CSA shares will start this week. Please watch your email for the opening of registration. The Fall CSA is a continuation of our season, but is a smaller amount of vegetables. Instead of the usual 8-10 items, you can expect usually 4-5 items in each week’s share. The shares will be a mix of greens, storage crops, and occasional specialty items like microgreens, ginger, and turmeric. This program runs for 8 weeks, ending before Christmas. We take the week of Thanksgiving off since normal Thursday pick up day is the holiday.

In addition, we will once again offer our bulk deal for Thanksgiving. We will take pre-orders for Thanksgiving boxes (Fall Greens and/or Winter Storage themed boxes) starting this week as well. Deliveries for Thanksgiving will be the TUESDAY before the holiday. On-farm pick up Monday PM or Tuesday AM also an option for those leaving town a little earlier. This is a great way to support your farmers for THE prime eating and feasting event of the year, and share in the fresh bounty of delicious vegetables from the farm.

So while you mull these mouth-watering possibilities over in your mind, here’s the preview for this week’s share:

+ Butternut Squash – the favorite is finally here at last

+ Tomatoes

+ Peppers – this will be the LAST WEEK for peppers! We’ve had an excellent run and one of the best years yet on our red, yellow, and orange peppers.

+ Spinach and/or Chard

+ Caraflex cabbage – these cabbage heads are a smaller, cone shaped variety.

+ Green Beans – surprise! We have a final late green bean harvest, the last of the year.

+ Broccoli – yes! We are celebrating the return of this favorite spring/fall vegetable.
