Summer Solstice Potluck

Mark your calendars! Friday June 24th we will host our annual summer solstice potluck at the farm.

But first, we want to introduce you to Evelyn.

Evelyn, pictured left, is a CSA member this year. She came to the farm to look around and decided to jump in and help us wash bins. What a great picture of how our CSA is really “community supported”! Thanks, Evelyn, for your help! We love meeting our CSA members and helping each of our members be a part of our big farming/food family.

With that said, our annual CSA potlucks provide a great opportunity to connect with us! Our potlucks connect you to the farm, the people behind the farm, and the food you are enjoying. See the UK South Farm first hand and make some new friends. Great opportunity to swap recipes, too!

Who: CSA members and their friends and families, CSA staff,  and student apprentices. Bring a friend!

What: Potluck event and farm tour.  Bring a dish to share (great way to use some of your veggies in the share!) The farm will provide plates, cups, utensils, and drinks.

When: Friday June 24th. We’ll start gathering around 5:30pm, but won’t start eating until 6pm. If you can’t make it that early, feel free to come when you can make it. The potlucks usually run until dusk or later. If weather is good, we’ll have a bonfire after the meal.

Where: The organic farming unit at the UK Horticulture Research Farm. 4321 Emmert Farm Lane. Entrances either off Man O War Blvd at the traffic light across from the  Nicholasville Road WalMart and Lowe’s, or the back gate along Waveland Museum Lane. We will gather in the kitchen area. Parking lot across from the kitchen. Look for our CSA signs.

We hope to see you there!
