The first seeds for this year’s CSA were planted the last week of February into flats that we’ve keep warm and happy in the seedling greenhouse. The crops we started include: bulb onions, green onions, kale, broccoli, kohlrabi, collards, celery, green cabbage and chinese cabbage. We must have given the flats a little too much love because they are growing up way too fast. Check out these giant transplants! Throughout March we have continued seeding more cold-weather crops and have even started plants for tomato season: the tomatoes, peppers, eggplant and herbs are earning their greenhouse space and although these warm-weather crops have a long journey before we get to enjoy their fruit, my mouth is already watering with thoughts of warm cherry tomatoes off the vine.
